Exploring Careers

#PRI #MyDiscoveryDestination

Pre-K Adventure

It’s dress-up time!!

With the help of a parent choose at least 3 different careers. Dress-up and use props to ‘play’ those careers and explore what it might feel like to really be in that career.

Really feeling adventurous!?! How about taking a field trip to observe one or more career in action. Here are some suggestions:

  • Visit a fire station or police station
  • At your next doctor’s appointment observe the nurses and doctors and what they do
  • Go to the store with your parent and notice the different workers and what they are doing
  • See if you can visit your parents where they work and find out more about what they do

Have Fun!!

Basic Adventure

There are so many options available to you. Take some time to explore different careers and what they would involve. As you go throughout the next couple of weeks be aware of all of the different jobs people are doing. Even within one office or store you will see people doing LOTS of different jobs. For example, if you go to the doctor’s office you will notice there are front desk clerks working on the computers and keeping track of patients, there are nurses, there are doctors, there are pharmacists, etc. At a store you will see managers, cashiers, stockers, bakers, sometimes even bankers or florists or specialty chefs.

Be aware ~ observe the different professions ~ and discuss with your parents what you think you would like about each job, and what you think you might not like.

Here are some career tests you can try if you’d like a little help identifying some good options for you:

Super Achiever Adventure

Super-Achievers will want to really dive into the different careers, particularly those that interest them, by interviewing people they know in that career. Here are a few questions you could ask them:

  • Why did you choose this career?
  • What do you like about it?
  • What are some things you would change about this career if you could?
  • What does a normal day look like for you?
  • What should someone thinking about going into this career do to prepare?
  • What type of schooling, and how much, did you need for this career?
  • What is a normal salary range for this career?

Take good notes so you can remember what they tell you later.

Our Focus

While other financial services companies typically focus on the wealthy, Primerica serves Main Street families in neighborhoods all across North America.

We take an educational approach and offer financial tools to help our clients reach their goals. The complimentary Financial Needs Analysis asks all the right questions to identify exactly where a family is on the path to their goals, and then suggests Primerica solutions that both fit their needs and budget, and help them stay on track for those dreams.

Primerica is a Main Street Company for Main Street North America. Our goal is to create more financially independent families.

Today’s families face major financial challenges. They’re being forced to downsize their goals and dreams — to settle for less. Primerica shows them how they can change their life. We are the one company focused on the middle market and helping Main Street families get the financial help they need.

We help Main Street families get the protection they need at a price they can afford, invest for the future and get out of debt. We teach families fundamental financial principles that aren’t taught in school and we give them an opportunity to build a business and transform their life.
