Pre-K Adventure

When people think about a library they usually think ‘shhhh!’ and ‘books, books, book’!! Well, that’s still part of a library . . . but modern libraries are soooo much more! The Logan Library has technology of every kind, and plenty to talk about as we look at building a new library!

Let’s start moving towards this new ‘view’ of the library by learning how to ‘self-check’ at the Logan Library. The little ones will LOVE this! The basic Adventure is to visit the Logan Library (or your local library!), choose some books to read , and then use the ‘self-check’ to check them out.

(NOTE: If your local library does not have a self-check machine then simply go through whatever check-out process is available.)

Super Achiever Adventure

SUPER Achievers will have a BLAST planning and hosting a Read-a-thon! You pick the book (or series), make a plan, and then IMPLEMENT!

The sky is the limit on how you can set-up your Read-a-thon. You can all get together for a night of pizza and reading (the same book or different books; great format for families with readers of different reading levels). You can choose the book (or series) and have everyone read it separately on their own time with everyone recording when they finish. You could even use this format and then get together to read the final few chapters together. You can come up with a list of questions and then have friends read the book and write down the answers as they come across them- the first one to find all of the answers wins a prize).
