Pre-K Adventure

Pre-schoolers under 4 are a little young to begin coding apps. However, they are certainly not too young to begin learning how apps work. For most adults, when a piece of technology isn’t working the way we want it to we can usually just find a child and they’ll show us how to use it!

For this adventure we can give pre-school students an opportunity to experience how apps work. Choose a few simple, child-oriented apps and let them explore!

Basic Adventure

Take some time to learn how to code your own app or game. There are apps to help kids at all levels.  Here are a few to get you started~ all can be used 100% free. Most of them do have in-app purchase options, but you can use the basic functions at no cost while you try them out to see which one(s) you like.

To complete this Adventure go through the apps and find one that works best for you. Spend some time learning to code. Technology is all around you, and you are going to be using it your whole life. You might as well learn to CREATE it! Or at least understand some basics of how your technology works.

The Foo’s– Great ratings.

Daisy the Dinosaur– This has a drag & Drop interface to teach the basics of programming. Recommended for 4+

A.L.E.X.– This one is a puzzle game where you have to program your robot.

Kids learn the fundamentals of every modern programming language in a fun and inviting way. Most schools don’t offer anything like this until much later.
