Super Achiever Adventure

What did you learn during your visit to Cox Honeyland?

Now it’s time to try out a honey creation of your own. Ready, set, GO . . .

Recipe for Honey Lip Balm:

  1. Prepare the container you will store your lip balm in.
  2. Melt 5 oz of almond or coconut oil and 1 oz. of beeswax together in a double boiler. You can create a double boiler by putting a glass measuring cup or bowl in a pot of water. Never cover the mixture. Heat on medium high heat.
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Stir in 1 Tablespoon of raw honey and a few drops of essential oils.
  5. Pour the mixture into the containers and let it set up. Then cap the containers.

Here is an unusual use for honey that you probably didn’t know. If you put raw honey on a burn it will take the burn out and will heal faster. Try it next time you get too close to a hot curling iron, or a hot pot, or wherever your burns come from.
